Kristina's NICU StoryJun 6, 2019
“This is Ashley, she was born seven weeks early, and we spent thirty-two days in the NICU, and I thought we were going to spend a lot more time there, but luckily they said she could go home. I have to say it was a blessing in disguise to get a NICU baby, because I’m a new mom, and they tutor you.
You know I’ve never really changed a diaper before, and I was lucky to have a healthy baby. It just ended up being a nice experience. I just feel like when I’m there I have family all around. It’s just great knowing it’s a nice hospital like that and they all know what they’re doing. I actually had a fun delivery there. People don’t really think that labor is fun, but we were laughing for hours, and I think a lot of the doctors and nurses, they had a good experience as well.
Later they said they’d never been to a delivery like that where there was a lot of giggling and laughing going on. So, it’s nice that when it’s time to be serious everybody’s serious, and if you’re in labor and you want to laugh, they’re there to laugh with you. It’s a nice family there at Sierra Vista.”
