Labor and Delivery Tours

Welcoming a new baby into the family is one of the most significant events of our lives. The Tenet Health Central Coast team understands this and provides a family centered approach to maternity care, which means each individual family’s needs and preferences are respected. Patients and families can count on sensitive, compassionate, and highly skilled care from both our nurses and providers to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during this important time. In addition, our postpartum staff works with you and provides information on self-care, infant care, and parenting skills, so that families feel confident and supported when they go home.

Our nurses and providers recognize that each birth is unique and parents have wishes and plans for the birth of their baby. We will support and guide you through your birth and with your input, help to make your experience as special and memorable as it deserves to be.

Navigating Parenthood Support Group: For new mothers and fathers who may be having difficulty adjusting to parenthood, this support group is facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker and helps provide new parents with the tools and resources to better adjust to life with a baby. It also gives new parents the opportunity to meet other new parents and share experiences in a safe and welcoming environment. This group meets once a month on the second Thursday of the month from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the 3rd Floor Waiting Room. No registration required.

Birth & Baby Center Tours at Twin Cities Community Hospital: Expectant mothers and birthing coaches are invited to tour the Twin Cities Birth & Baby Center to familiarize themselves with our philosophy of family-centered birth. The tour includes information on general hospital policies, admitting processes, prenatal education programs and a sneak-peek at our labor, delivery and recovery suites. Tours are held on the first Sunday of each month (except for holiday weekends) at 1pm (English), 2pm (Spanish) and 3pm (for families with children).

Pre-registration is required for all classes & tours. No registration is required for support groups.
