Support Groups & Community
Our commitment to the health of the Central Coast community extends beyond providing quality health care services. As good neighbors, Tenet Health Central Coast offers meeting spaces to several local support groups and community organizations. For more information about each of these groups, please contact the group facilitator listed below.
Hope for Stroke: Stroke Support Group for Survivors & Caregivers
A group of stroke survivors, caregivers, friends and health care professionals who meet once a month to share stories and support one another. Their goal is to provide information that is useful and relevant. Meets on the third Monday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Sierra Vista Auditorium. North County Stroke Support Group
For Stroke Survivors and Caregivers. Meets on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Morgan Conference Room at Twin Cities Community Hospital from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Contact the stroke coordinator at (805) 434-4565 for more information.
Flying Samaritans of the Central Coast
A nonprofit group that has delivered health care to the indigent in Baja, California, since 1961. Clinics are held monthly. Meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Sierra Vista Auditorium. Contact Dr. Joseph Kuntze at (805) 434-1408.
Thyroid Cancer Support Group
A support group for survivors of thyroid cancer, friends and family. Meets on the third Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. in the Sierra Vista Auditorium. Leukemia & Lymphoma Patient Services
This meeting is held three times a year to provide members of the community with information regarding patient services and Team in Training registration. To find out when the next meeting is scheduled, call Barbara at (805) 772-5965.

Central Coast Ostomy Support Group
All ostomates, future ostomates and their support persons are welcome and encouraged to attend. Our meetings have a dual purpose:
1) to provide ostomates with information to help them live healthier, happier lives and care for themselves easily and properly and
2) to share experiences and provide mutual support for one another.

Better Breathers
Better Breathers’ Club is a support group for people with any chronic lung disease including COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary fibrosis. You are invited to attend and bring along family, friends, and caregivers. Meets the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00am in the Sierra Vista Auditorium. Senior Support Group
SLOCO Seniors is a support group for seniors wanting to share experiences, get support, or seek the guidance of other seniors in pursuing their individual endeavors. The support group is open to the public and free of charge. Meets on the third Monday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Sierra Vista Auditorium. Call (805) 546-7801 for more information.
Confident Caregiver
Presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, this ongoing workshop for family caregivers of dementia patients provides free monthly educational opportunities on various topics. All classes are held on the first Thursdays of the month, from 10 am to 11:30 am in Morgan Conference Center at Twin Cities Community Hospital.
