Tim Menton Named Interim CEO at Sierra Vista Medical Center
Jan 4, 2017SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Tim Menton, an experienced leader with 40 years of diverse leadership experience in health care administration, operations and finance has been named Interim CEO at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, effective January 3. He succeeds Joe DeSchryver, Sierra Vista’s CEO for the past three years, who accepted a position in San Jose.
Menton comes to the Central Coast with extensive experience in hospitals, health systems and a large multi-specialty group practice, leading organizations in multiple senior level capacities. For the past 18 years he has directed hospitals as both CEO and Interim CEO ranging in size from a 60-bed start-up facility to a 744-bed tertiary referral center.
“I am pleased to have the opportunity to provide leadership to Sierra Vista during this interim period and work with the talented physicians, management staff and caregivers to continue to be a leading resource for health care to San Luis Obispo County,” Menton said. “In particular, I look forward to partnering with the medical staff and community to continue to bring services and innovative technologies that will allow people to stay close to home for their care.”
Menton obtained a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University. He is active on health care committees at the Federal and State level focused on developing health care policy.
Sierra Vista is the second largest private employer in San Luis Obispo with just under 800 employees. At 164 licensed beds, it is the largest hospital in San Luis Obispo County providing both acute care and tertiary level services.
