Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center Names Scott Wartelle Chief Financial Officer

San Luis Obispo, Calif. – Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center has appointed Scott Wartelle as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective Feb. 4, 2019.

Wartelle has been with Tenet Healthcare since 2013. He comes to Sierra Vista from Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, where he served as CFO and held the distinction as the hospital’s longest-tenured administrative team member. He oversaw numerous financial entities of the hospital including accounting, patient access, health information management, contracts and case management.

“Scott will be a wonderful addition to our executive team,” said Mark Lisa, CEO of Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. “He brings with him years of experience in understanding the various acute and post-acute service lines from a financial perspective and we are thrilled to have him bring his skill-set and knowledge to the Central Coast.”

Prior to his role at Hi-Desert Medical Center, Wartelle served as Assistant CFO at Houston Northwest Medical Center, a 430-bed Tenet Healthcare facility in Texas. He served as the Controller and Director of Accounting for the Women & Children’s Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana, the premier pediatric hospital in South Central Louisiana. Wartelle has also served in various finance and decision support positions.

Wartelle earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and graduated from the Tenet Finance Academy in 2015. Wartelle was also an active member of the Joshua Tree Rotary Club.
