Apr 28, 2016TEMPLETON, Calif. – April 19, 2016 – Joan Fonda, RN, has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer at Twin Cities Community Hospital. Fonda, a highly experienced nurse leader, has served as the hospital’s interim CNO for the last two months.
“Joan is a great addition to the leadership team,” said Mark Lisa, CEO of Twin Cities Community Hospital. “In her role as interim CNO, she has identified – and taken action -- in several key areas, with a focus on continuing to improve employee engagement, service and quality throughout the hospital. She has shown herself to be a very approachable, dedicated nurse leader who is focused on patient care and clinical excellence.”
Lisa added, “In addition to being an excellent strategic thinker, Joan is at home in every nursing and patient care unit, and has also proven herself to be an outstanding coach, mentor, guide and promoter of the nursing profession.”
Fonda comes to Twin Cities from Tenet’s Doctors Medical Center of Modesto, where she worked since 1982. Since 2002 she has served in a variety of nursing leadership positions, most recently as Director of Patient Care Services. She has an Associate of Science degree in nursing from Modesto Junior College and a Master’s degree in nursing leadership from Walden University.
“I view my role as a nurse leader to encompass two main objectives,” Fonda said. “First and foremost is to protect patients and ensure that every patient feels cared for while in our care. The second is to support nurses who protect and care for patients. If we place the patient in the center of all we do, all of the other objectives and goals will fall into place.”
