Resources for a Healthier New Year

Jan 25, 2022

Dear fellow community members and colleagues,

First, Happy New Year! Are we really almost one month into it? After the hustle, bustle and indulging of the holidays, I am glad for the fresh start of this New Year.

Of course some are well into the ubiquitous “New Year’s Resolutions” and, whether you have resolutions or reservations about your health, I want to remind you that Tenet Health Central Coast continues to be here for you.

With February being the national observance of heart health, one way we can help virtually is with our Heart Health Challenge. Sign up today and you will receive a month of healthy tips that can lead to a lifetime of benefits.

You can also take advantage of our Healthy Conversations podcasts, where you can find a wide variety of informative and inspirational conversations and topics, such as, “Is Your Body Ready for Pregnancy?” “The Impact of a Level III NICU in Our Community,” the importance of Male Cancer Screenings and Mammogram Screenings, “Strokes: How to Act F.A.S.T.” and many more.

Another easy resource is our web page that is dedicated to Emergencies at Home and recognizing when you need to go to the Emergency Room. You can also always call our Tele-ER at 805-546-7990 to speak with an ER nurse or physician if you are unsure if you need to go to an emergency room.

Lastly, and importantly, if you haven’t scheduled your annual screenings, please do so: it can truly prove to be the difference between life and death. It’s best to look for health problems before they start and, even if there are existing issues found, your chances for effective treatment and a cure are better. I encourage you to consult with your physician about which screenings are best for you.

May the rest of your year be filled with joy and healthy living. Take care of yourself and know that we are always here if you need us.
